FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 20, 2009
“It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a …. Clean Energy Plane!”
Clean Energy Connection (CEC) announced earlier this week the launch of two new sites
focused on clean energy airplanes and aviation. “Airplanes consume nearly 5% of all oil
on the planet” remarked Kathy Beyer-Conrad, a spokesperson for the CEC, “We are seeing
a trend of aircrafts becoming more energy efficient and even flying solely on renewable
energy.”
“The balloon boy hoax highlighted some of the mavrickness going on with regards to
creating the next generation of aircrafts” says Max Besserkamp, an aviation analyst at
the CEC, “The demand for an aircraft that runs on clean energy far exceeds the supply.
If and when an aircraft comes out that meets those specifications, they will have the
entire market at their disposal. Watch out Boeing and Airbus!”
“The websites aggregate and archive information in the form of both videos and
articles.” Says Beyer-Conrad, “while some people prefer reading articles, other prefer
watching videos and absorbing the information passively, so we decided to cater to both
audiences. The sharing of information about airplanes and aviation is a small step in
the great leap towards having passenger flights not be dependent on fuel derived from
oil.”
Representatives from Boeing and Airbus did not return calls at time of press.
