Bye Energy’s first electric Cessna 172 to fly in Spring 2011
George Bye of Bye Energy announced, on November 4, 2010, that he plans to fly a 1978 Cessna 172, using an electric propulsion system, sometime in the Spring of 2011.
This leaves him about seven months to deliver on his claim.

If Mr. Bye's plan go as he hopes, it would be a major first leap toward the creation of an electric hybrid aircraft propulsion system.
